Walmart sells cannabis rosin press
The world of DIY cannabis concentrates just got a big boost from an unexpected source: Walmart. That’s right, Walmart sells a cannabis rosin press. Thanks to the retail giant’s e-commerce site, you can now make concentrates at home without using tricky and dangerous solvents.
You probably would not expect to get hardcore dabbing gear at Walmart. But now, apparently, you can. Walmart’s website is now selling the Rosineer RNR-PV1 rosin press. The device has been designed to produce high-quality concentrates without the use of solvents. The RNR-PV1 uses a combination of heat and pressure to squeeze out and collect the most important oils found in cannabis. Using a pneumatic press, the machine squeezes plant material between its built-in heating plates.
The high temperatures and extreme pressure created by the device press oil out of your bud, leaving behind a potent and pure concentrate. All that THC-rich oil is perfect for dabbing. And the best part of all is that it’s super easy to get your hands on one of these machines. Currently, Walmart’s e-commerce site is selling them for $449.00. That might be a little steep for a lot of DIYers, but if you’re serious about your dabs, it could be well worth the investment.
Dangers of making weed concentrates at home
One of the problems with making concentrates is that the process usually relies on some sort of chemical solvent. Butane is the most commonly used. But butane and other chemicals used in the process are extremely flammable. Not surprisingly, this creates some very unsafe situations. In fact, people who are making their own butane hash oil quite frequently end up blowing up their homes. For example, things got so bad in Humboldt County, California last year that Humboldt Bay Fire had to release a statement about it.
Describing the dangers of making concentrates at home, the agency said “Butane is the most commonly used solvent. Butane Hash Oil (BHO) extraction is highly dangerous and oftentimes results in explosions and associated structural fires. Many local fire agencies and community members have witnessed the appalling consequences of BHO-related explosions.”
Rosin press vs. concentrate
But rosin presses like the one being sold at Walmart avoid all this. Using heat and pressure instead of chemicals dramatically decreases the risk of blowing up your house. Walmart is probably not on your radar of companies likely to make an impact on the weed scene. But now that Walmart sells a cannabis rosin press, you may need to think again. The press makes it cheap, convenient, and safe to make your own dabs right at home.
So if you are looking to take your dab game to a whole new level, Walmart may be your golden ticket. True, you can always make solvent-less concentrates using wax paper and a hair straightener. But that can be time-consuming. On top of that, it produces inconsistent results. Using a serious rosin press like the one being sold at Walmart will give you perfect dabs every time.
