About Powderhound

90% sativa | 10% indica

More than just a term to describe an avid skier, Powderhound is a sativa-dominate hybrid created by Washington State's Lazy Bee Gardens. Derived from the uber-popular Jack Herer, Powderhound gives a surging head high alongside a complex earthy aroma. Her THC content has been measured at between 18% and 22%.

Her buds have a tapered shape, somewhat like a miniature pinecone, and are medium to large in size. The internal composition has a pronounced sativa appearance, with leaves twisting loosely outward in a ragged fashion. Leaves are a bright, yellowish green and are threaded with curly orange pistils. Finally, as its name suggests, Powderhound is coated in a blanket of snowy white trichomes that make it very sticky to the touch. Buds carry the simultaneously fruity and piney scent that made her parent strain so popular. Take a closer whiff and you may pick up on some underlying earthy, musky odors, but pull her apart and you'll get more of a hashy, peppery vapor. Surprisingly, burning her gives off a smooth and easily ingested smoke, that smoke tastes fruity and slightly skunky on the exhale.

This high-powered sativa strikes quickly, unleashing a head rush that may create a headband-like feeling around the temples, but once adjusted you can bask in elevated state of mind. You may find ideas seem to swirl around a variety of topics, stopping to rest on unexpected concepts which can be effected by external stimuli or surroundings conversations - great for social situations. If you're in a productive mood, embrace it and allow her to help with concentration on detailed tasks, which could help illuminate solutions to longstanding problems. If further into the high you're still buzzing and feel unaffected by stoney physical effects, burn off some of that energy with exercise or socializing. In fact, with her blend of mental stimulation and mellow euphoria she can serve as a potent aphrodisiac - so grab your partner. With a mostly upbeat vibe, she's more of a daytime toke; too close to bedtime and she may keep you wide awake.

Powderhound's animating properties can also be of value to medical cannabis patients. Her persistent cerebral edge can be a solid concentration aid for those with ADD and her mood-boosting effects may temporarily relieve symptoms of mild to moderate stress or depression. Physically, she may help numb any pain that could be cause by chronic or minor issues. She's a hungry girl and has an ability to stoke the munchies, which is good if you need some help stimulating your appetite. However, because her energetic headset she can be disorienting in the wrong set and setting, so if you're are prone to paranoia or panic, you may want to pass.

Sadly, Lazy Bee doesn't have seeds available online. If you do get your hands on some seeds or a clone, she can be grown indoors or out, in a semi-humid, Mediterranean-like climate. Judging by parent strain Jack Herer's growth patterns, plants could have a relatively tall stature which indoor growers might have to trim from time to time, and will flower within about 9 to 10 weeks.

With a long-lasting head high, Powderhound is a must-try for sativa lovers. Its multilayered aroma also makes this bud worth seeking out by fans of its famous parent.
